Subject: A Debate? More Like Just Hot Air!
From: "bznoo" <b...@...com> Search message by this author

November 13, 2008

Lateline's Tony Jones has already shown that he's prepared to cover all
sides of the global warming debate

- from "we'll-all-fry" to "we'll-all-die".

Last night, though, he promised something special:

And before we enter the debate, a new question first directly to Ross
Garnaut.

A debate? With climate catastrophist Ross Garnaut? At last!

So who does Jones present to argue the other side?

TONY JONES: Okay, let me bring David Karoly in here. You've just heard the
pragmatic Professor Garnaut, in his report he says that the global agreement
stabilising carbon dioxide in the atmosphere at 550 parts per million would
be a step forward of historical dimension.

What do you say to that?

DAVID KAROLY: It would be a step forward but it would also commit the world
to very dangerous climate change, including major impacts on melting of the
Greenland ice sheet, substantial sea level rise, condemn the Great Barrier
Reef to almost complete destruction in its northern areas, condemn Australia's
alpine areas to essentially becoming sub alpine.

Debate? Yet to hear it, Tony.
