Hi. I've been trading stocks for 8+ years and recently have become
interested in options. Does anyone have any books they would recommend
for a novice in options to read?
The optionetics site has a forum with a Books topic. Lots of posts.
A beginner book will not give you enough background to avoid the many
pitfalls of options but okay for as a first step.
No I am not recommending optionetics ... they won't give you enough
either but will set you backwards a bundle.

Option Market Making: Trading and Risk Analysis for the Financial and
Commodity Option Markets
by Allen Jan Baird
The absolute bible of options trading that they made me and all the
other floor market makers read when we were training is by Natenberg:

I agree. Natenberg starts with assuming the definitions and
principles of options known. But after a decent primer it should
be the 2nd or 3rd book to read. Better to soon than to late. This
is mandatory stuff.
