Subject: Long lines on Black Friday
From: Lawyerkill <L...@a...com> Search message by this author

I normally get up at 3 AM so when I saw that BestBuy had a laptop that
I liked on sale at 5 AM this morning I decided to take a ride and get
it. except for my HD TV last year I really don't do Black Friday so I
didn't know what to expect.

I get there about 3:30 AM figuring since the store open at 5 AM that's
lot of time. I get there and the line is already down the front of the
store, down the side and around the back, I don't even get out of my
car.

For the hell of it I drive by Wal Mart and a few others and it's the
same story.

I say to myself, wow business is not going to be as bad as they are
saying this year, but then I think, most likely the store is not
making a lot of money on the stuff and they have a very limit supply
of it so unless people buy a lot of the off sale stuff they may not do
as well as I think.

Don't know how to figure it.

Well..... :-)

Every year this scene repeats itself. But, by noon on CNBC, they'll be
telling us that Black Friday sales are down from last year.

Americans have become such frantic consumers that when they start to act
just slighly less frantic, it pops up on the statistical radar screen as
a bad sales result.

The experts have been saying this is going to be a horrible retail
season. "Horrible" is relative. It does not mean "nonexistent" by any
stretch of the imagination.

Galt, you have not voracity nor value to add to this or any ng.

Why don't you take your Bush lovin', bible thumpin' ass and hang
yourself ? That would be the support and attention you so crave
but find repeatedly denied.

Yes, well, THAT's certainly a value-add topic for for m.i.s. :-)

But, either way, he's trolling for an emotional response. Boring and
predictable.

My daughter and my granddaughter called me at midnight
telling me they were first in line at Office Depo or
somewhere.. that has some huge sale on something they
wanted... I guess they handed out vouchers and they got all
kinds of stuff... Those who brave the cold night ( they took
a futon and sleeping bags) had a DVD player and someone
schlepping coco and donuts.... Oh to be young!

Might be a growth industry ;~) Lets see:

One pound of coffee makes sixty cups - cost $4.95 LB., cream
-sugar-cups- sell for $1.00 + = Big profit !

Just hear on the news a Wal Mart worker was trampled to death when
they openned the store at 5 AM.
