Subject: Looks bad in MudVille..
From: -=DirtBag© <D...@d...net> Search message by this author

MudVille, Anywhere, USA.

Seems that reality is poking up through the sand this
morning..

We spent Billions and Billions over the last month and what
have we got?
Will Ford and GM be the frosting on the cake of crap
covered with lemon frosting and little sprinkles?

I wonder how much longer the air fresheners will keep the
smells down.. because like all rotten garbage is is going to
start smelling bad soon.

Nothing looks good. Nothing looks safe. Nothing smells
right. If I were a cat I would be trying to cover this up in
the cat box .. but the cat box is so full of crap already
it just is not possible.

fine. Prolly.

we are on completely new ground imo...the US is 'too big to fail'..and
by that I dont mean that it can be bailed out, but that it is too much
an aspect of the world economy to sink by itself. and that the world
economy and food production etc will carry on regardless earthquakes
in the medium of exchange. so it wont fail... the rest of the world
wont fail.... but the good times will definitely get a huge chunk
taken out of its ass in the US.....US hedgmoney and empire will
collapse.. quickly imo.

with that the US dollar based world currency system... shortly it will
be rebooted most likely into a universal currency, not a basket of
currencies as all of these are perverted by their host govts priniting
presses etc.

a universal currency would leave no single nation able to inflate
it... all would rise or fall on the same tide so to speak.

Problem with that from the US perspective...we are the worlds largest
debtor by a massive margin these days... so our cut will be negative
as hell.

and we are not in a position to produce our way out of it... (or GDP
figures are bogus, it counts govt , and poodle washing as production
for instance).

its an investment opportunity the same way aligator meat caught bare
handed is... you better know what you are doing, its very deep
swamp... timing makes and other factors, demographics etc make it
not as simple as in the last depression imo.

then, the US was the worlds premier mfgr...today that aspect is
collapsing fast etc.

My advice, invest in yourself, skills, tools and fitness, multiple
but vertical income streams, self sufficiency... liability avoidance,
tax, debt or morgage etc... those remain constant assets despite
turmoil.

yes, then some way to store wealth...junk silver today maybe the
best...gold too large to parse on the street easily..but not bad...

then you need real estate or land or etc to hide or guard it... a
liability in that aspect.

Myself Im planning on certain death... so am not worried about the
long term potential in real estate after a collapse, meteor strike, or
next 40% fatal pandemic. or illness that wipes out all savings.

Im taking an extremently short term view towards maximizing my
actvive personal sustainability in that aspect,... none of that
bullet proof.

Feller has too much wealth, somebody will want to get it away from
him. Starting with the tax man.

>then you need real estate or land or etc to hide or guard it... a

It's convenient to have a place to live, for as long as you can
anyway. After that it's every man for himself.

>Myself Im planning on certain death...

We can all look forward to that one.

I've spent the past 7 years planning for "retirement". I want to be
able to live on Social Security (assuming there is any such thing) and
put money in the bank while doing it. Living cheap is a definite
skill and it takes some time to learn it. So I guess I'm taking an
extremely long view instead of an extremely short one; with my luck
being as bad as it is I'll probably live to be 120.

The negative net worth folks who are on the "going concern" plan of
monthly salary vs monthly bills are likely to have to learn how to
live cheap in a hurry. Most of them are unlikely to believe that they
really need to until it's nearly too late.

When I look back at how I was living a decade ago, I am confused
whether to laugh or cry. What I pissed away every month would now
provide a year's living expenses with savings.

It'll grind out the way it grinds out. I take a Murphy's Law point of
view, if I'm planning what to do when things go to hell and they
don't, I'll just have to suffer through the luxury of it all. That'll
prolly break my black little heart. <g>
