ONE good thing to come out of this market.....the disappearance of the
"Systems"....
How long has it been since you've seen a "System" touted here???
No more head & shoulders, moving averages, astrological configurations,
resistance levels, candlesticks, odd-lot volume, etc., etc., etc.....

I use Aeronut as a contrarian indicator. I count the amount of his postings,
the frequence, the use of the word FRAUD, how many capital letters he's
using, the length of his postings and some other more secret analysing. I
put that in graphs and compare it with real market performance. It's a very
accurate system that tells me when to buy and when to sell. If he doesn't
post, I poke him with a virtual stick to make sure about my analysis.

You buying then? Aero right now is the "god in the machine", a
trader's term I once read about for a trader who has a hot hand. The
theory being that the market at any one time can be predicted for a
very brief period of time by at least one person, the "god in the
machine" (Stacey Kidder's Ghost in the Machine comes to mind), who can
call the market with 100% accuracy. However, this only lasts for a
brief period of time and nobody but Lady Luck knows when the God in
the Machine's forecasting ability will stop. But, while it lasts,
it's like somebody who has placed every bet on a crap table and keeps
winning until the roll a 7 or 11 or whatever it is that loses.
Right now Aero is the G.I.T.M. and his 15 minutes of fame is now.
I bought some reverse ETFs last week and am making some money
(mitigating my other losses).

how is that different than saying that from the random predictions made
by multitudes of people which cover every possible outcome that one of
them will always be right, just won't be the same person each time. that
could be said of this newsgroup, it always contains the right prediction
but rarely made by the same person. so you can either try to predict
which person has the right prediction or just try to predict the outcome
directly (yourself). sort of like stock newsletters, you can try to
predict which one will do the best job of picking stocks, or you can just
try to pick stocks yourself...

Aw come on blash, the markets are behaving pretty much according to TA
expectations. Or maybe I was too dumb to learn that and they ain't.
I'm not seeing surprises though.
I wish I still had my ESLR shares, they'd still be some kind of bagger
or another. Haven't kept up but solar is solar. Reminds me I gotta
buy some panels. Oh well, maybe after the dirt is dug... prolly in a
fuckin' blizzard or some shit.
