Its a good thing the government has such respect for the law. I mean
golly, if the government doesn't respect the law, who will? We'd be
in a heck of a mess.

The election is over, give it up already.

Uh-oh, this is getting serious, now "Comical" is using "his"
girlie name...this calls for "Michael J. Barton" to reply using
"HIS" girlie name "Carmella Matsko" (nickname: "Ratsko")...

That's not completely correct. First off, the electors in some states are
bound by their own state laws as to how to vote. Some states can split their
electoral votes, although most can't. Some states require their electors to
vote based on the popular vote, but some don't have this law. Now in the
event the Obama does become disqualified, some states require the electoral
votes to go only to a name that appeared on the Presidential ballot, while
others allow the votes to go to the Vice Presidential candidate.
Here is a half way decent synopsis of the Electoral College process.

Just in passing, there is no federal law that forces states to select their
electors from a popular vote. It wasn't until 1860 when all the states gave the
selection of electors to the voters. South Carolina was the last holdout.
Originally, the electors were selected by the state legislatures, in the same
way they selected US senators. Aaron Burr, one of the early American villains,
ranking next to Benedict Arnold in "detestability," saw this undemocratic method
as a loophole and capitalized on it. Burr invented the big city political
machine to get Jeffersonian Democratic-Republicans elected to the New York state
legislature. From there Burr managed all kinds of goodies from New York ranging
in US senators (senators were also selected by the state legislatures back then)
to presidential electors (contributing to the election of himself and Jefferson)
to financing Burr's bank that rivaled Hamilton's Bank of New York.
Burr created a company which was to supply Manhattan with potable water. His
cronies in the state legislature worded legislation that funded this venture in
such a way that any excess funding could be used by Burr's group for any lawful
purpose. Sure enough, Burr had a few feet of hollowed-out logs used a water
pipe laid down Broadway, two blocks west of the stock exchange, then quit the
project. Most of the state's money was then used as seed capital for Burr's
Bank of Manhattan, today's JPM. Many Chase Bank branches have prominently
displayed laminated sections of hollowed logs that were used for the erstwhile
water project with inscriptions stating that the Chase Bank started as a water
company. Yeah. Right.

No. A person born in the United States may not have a birth
certificate, so other documents can be used.

In one of Obama's books, he claims to have come across his original birth
certificate. So he has it, he just won't show it and therein lies the the
rise of suspicion.
oh, he has his birth certificate.. it is just not from america....
