Anyone else in this situation?
I feel it is gotten too uncertain that our leaders or anyone
can fix what is going on and the USA economy is toast. I
just just wrote Barbara Boxer, my Congressman (person), and
expressed how disappointed I am in her leadership and how I
am leaning towards voting out all incumbents for the next
few elections. I expressed how in my eyes she had become
stale and ineffective in her representation. I asked her
to call me so that I could speak personally to her about
things that troubled me, and about her representation of me
and my families interests.
Way back when... Senator Alan Cranston was a good friend of
my parents.. I one time needed his help in a matter, and he
not only called me personally, but his executive secretary
Jean Fortsner followed up for months on it. I was way
impressed with Senator Cranston and how he took care of
'his' people. Lets see how Senator Boxer handles this
request for a personal phone call.
I bet that it just gets tossed.. But if she does phone me
will be very shocked.

IF she calls, FYI-a blow-job is now probably out of the question!!!!
Barking up the wrong tree, Jim. Barbara Boxer is your Senator, not your
Representative. She's a great lady and a proud graduate of Brooklyn College.

Pull the plug? Meaning what? Leave the country or something else?
I'm afraid to know...
But yeah, your letter will be trashed or set to one of her aides to
deal with. She probably is getting several dozen of these generic
"you suck" letters everyday.
I would (and have) instead asked her to vote a certain way on a
specific bill. This is advice they can actually tally against other
people writing or calling in (I prefer to call rather than write),
instead of a generic "your leadership sucks" kind of letter (no matter
how true).

I am almost in your situation, but I don't expect any elected official
to be competent or effective.

Senator Boxer's staff may respond to you if you're lucky. Senators
have a much larger staff than Congressman.
A fellow employee was told that Senator Feingold was more likely to
respond to hand-written messages than printed messages or email.
A Senator or Congressman individually has very little power. So you
will need to make a case for the legislation that you want and pass it
on to others. That means doing something more than posting to Usenet.
You need to research the issues, find the experts, and get one to take
up your cause.
What do you want to happen? Is government the only way to make that
happen? What level of government do you need to reach? (city, county,
state, federal, school board, police and fire commission, courts,
etc.)

Elaborate, SVP.
And remember, regardless how bad things look, how hopeless . . . .
things could be worse.
You could be mentally challenged like Bloh.
